I had no idea how many people in my community love Disney. If you're a Disney fan, you're going to love their latest partnership with Canva. In this post, I will show you behind the scenes so you know exactly where to look to find your favorite magical characters. Without further ado, let's hop in.

Droptober was an exciting new campaign that took place in Fall 2024 and involved the launch of multiple new products that enhance the visual suite within the Canva Design Editor. Magic Write got supercharged, the ability to bring data to life with Interactive Storytelling increased due to the updates to Charts, you're able to add branded captions, boost collaborations with polls and quizzes, turn insights into action with AI-powered whiteboards, and coming soon, you'll be able to make a mockup from any image. If you want to make sure that you have access to everything that was released as part of Droptober, you'll want to have a Canva Pro account to get access to a free 30-day trial of Canva Pro go to lashondabrown.com/canva

The partnership with Dream Lab was announced, along with other collaborations that we've mentioned in previous videos, including the partnership with POC stock, adding more inclusive stock photos into the Canva library. Now, if you happen to take a look at the Droptober landing page to the right-hand side of that image of the POC stock photos, you will see some familiar faces, Mickey, Ariel, Donald Duck, all of those are a part of the Disney collection within the Canva Design Editor. Here’s the link to this landing page for Droptober so that you can quickly find these assets for use in future designs.

When you go to the landing page, specifically for the Disney templates, you're going to see a Follow button on the left-hand side if you want to stay on top of all the new content that's being added to Canva, that's a great thing for you to do within your account. At the very top, you're going to see some feature templates, and then if you continue to scroll down, you're going to see all of the templates that are currently available. Now, at the time of creating this post, there are hundreds of templates to choose from. So if you're looking for something more specific, I would highly recommend clicking on the Category drop-down and selecting the category that best fits what you're trying to design. Say for instance, you want to create an invitation, I would scroll down to cards and invitations and then click on invitation. That's going to sort through the library.

Now, one of the things that I was really impressed to see is not only do I see familiar Disney characters, but I also see verbiage in other languages. Don't forget, Canva does have a built-in translation feature within the Canva Design Editor. So if you happen to be in a position where you would like the graphics to be Disney assets, but you would like for it to be in a different language, you don't have to hop outside of Canva to make that happen. Here’s the tutorial I did about the Translate Feature so you can use that as well if you'd like.

Once you select your design, it's going to show you what some of your options are on the right-hand side. Remember that you can actually send your Canva designs to be printed. And what's really nice about Canva is they have a partnership with FedEx, so you could have Canva print your designs directly, or you can send it to your local FedEx and pick up your prints in person. So if you are pressed for time, this is a great solution for you to not only create a new design but have it printed and ready to hand out within a matter of days. In the bottom right-hand corner, you're going to see the option to customize this template. Just give that button a click and it's going to open the Design Editor.

Now this is really important information for you to take note of, so please make sure that you read it before you start to customize your design. You are allowed to use the Disney collection for personal and educational purposes. Templates can be printed using Canva Print, if that's available in your region. You can look here to see if your region is represented within the Canva Print network. You cannot use these templates for commercial purposes, so you cannot resell them, and you can only use the content provided in the template, no outside elements. So if you have any other questions about the Disney collection license, you can just click on the hyperlink on this page, and that's going to take you to Canva’s content license agreement so that you can make sure that you are on the same page with Canva and with Disney before you start to design.

Now that we've got that out of the way, what's really exciting about this particular design is there are some additional elements. Feel free to add these to other pages in the design, but this page needs to be deleted before the export. So you have some more variations on the characters from Lion King, and you also have some iconic backdrops. Now at the top, if you want to customize your invitation, just like any other design, you can click on the elements and change the things that you would like to modify. When you're done customizing your design, don't forget to delete that page by clicking on the trash can in the top right-hand corner. And when we're ready to print, we can click on print with Canva in the top right-hand corner. That is where you will select what is appropriate for your design and Canva is going to walk you through some options to make sure that you get what you need. So you can tell it whether or not you want it to print on the front and the back. You can choose the paper, type, the paper finish, the corners, how many invitations, and obviously, the more that you order, the lower the individual invitation price goes. And there is also a happiness guarantee with Canva Print. If you are not happy with your order, you can contact Canva. They will fix it, reprint it, or even refund it. I hope you found this tutorial useful. I look forward to seeing what you will design.

Thanks so much for reading this post. If you don't already have Canva Pro and you would like to get access to a free 30-day trial while supporting the channel. Go to lashondabrown.com/canva. Until next time to tata for now
