In August, an executive order was issued targeting TikTok. At this point, it became apparent that its future in the US was hanging by a thread. So Instagram created a competitor called IG Reels to try to scoop up some of the folks who liked TikTok and may soon find themselves with NOTHING. They did this years ago with the filters in IG Stories that were meant to give a SnapChat vibe. In order to get people to to use the feature more, they started to promote reels in the EXPLORE page. What this means is people could use reels to grow their audience WAY FASTER than posts, stories and IGTV videos. Literally, same content but placed on REELS vs any of those three resulted in 4x the traffic for me. 

BUT THEY ONLY GIVE YOU 15 SECS. SO…HOW DO YOU SELL IN 15 SECONDS???? I'M GLAD YOU ASKED! YOU DON'T LOL.

The reel is THE BAIT. What comes after it in your story is THE HOOK. Do something fun bragging about the RESULTS of what you do, then tell them how they get those results themselves in the NEXT SEGMENT of your IG STORY. So I danced about making money while I sleep and then I say the reason why is my website is bomb. I dance for 15 seconds, I get 2.5k views, I book a $2,500 website client. 

BUT IT HAS TO BE GOOD.
